CLIENT SURVEYS
Understanding the things that are most meaningful to you is critical to the financial planning and asset management process. AFP collects your information in various ways. Most information is gathered through live interviews and financial documents you provide. However, valuable information is also received through the use of client survey forms. Your thoughtful responses to the survey questions combined with the other data collected enables AFP to develop your financial plan and manage your investments.
AFP uses public and nonpublic personal information to analyze, assess, and make recommendations regarding your financial situation. The information collected from these forms is kept confidential and treated with extreme care. AFP adheres to a written policy meant to protect your privacy. The privacy policy is available for your review on the Compliance page.

Financial Planning Information
Developing a financial plan requires an understanding of clients' life goals, their available resources, and additional resources needed to achieve those goals. AFP explores these topics with clients during personal interviews and supplements that information by asking them to complete a financial planning survey. This encourages clients to begin organizing and documenting some of their own insights on their goals and financial situation. Risk Preference
Part of determining an appropriate investment strategy requires an understanding of clients' ability and willingness to tolerate risk. Investment risk tolerance is unique for each client and often changes over time. The primary way AFP helps clients understand and grow comfortable with their risk preferences is by educating them on the principles of investing. Another way is by assessing the answers to a brief risk preference survey. Keep in mind the responses to the survey questions only represent a small, but useful, subset of information used to gauge risk preference. Each client in the same household should complete and submit a separate survey. It is also highly recommended that the survey be taken in private to avoid any bias expressed by others.
